After a three-week trial, a federal jury convened by the Southern District of New York returned a unanimous verdict in favor of Defendants. Gregg Johnson defended the school district and multiple school officials before the EEOC, the federal District Court and the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. The Plaintiff in this action, was a self-described Pakistani/Muslim Chemistry teacher who claimed that the school’s failure to grant him tenure was based on his race, religion, national origin and ethnicity. (Appeal dismissed by U.S. Court of Appeals, 2d Cir. Jan. 2018).
