April J. LawsMs. April J. Laws was born in Wayne, Michigan, raised in Rockland County, New York, and now resides in Saratoga County, New York. She graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase College (B.A.) in 2000 and Pace University School of Law (J.D.) in 2004.

Ms. Laws concentrates her practice in civil litigation in the areas of employment law, civil rights law, land use, constitutional torts, municipal law, as well as personal injury litigation, where she appears before the state courts and administrative bodies, appellate courts, and various federal courts located in New York State. Ms. Laws is also licensed to practice before the state courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Ms. Laws’ prior practice included construction site accident litigation, automobile liability, products liability, premises liability, intentional torts, negligent security, wrongful death, employment discrimination and declaratory judgment litigation between insurers.

Ms. Laws has lectured extensively, including CLE-accredited programs, in the areas of constitutional law, employment discrimination, use of force and police tactics, risk management, as well as various points of interest in municipal law.

Ms. Laws has successfully tried cases in both state and federal courts. Ms. Laws especially takes pride in her communications and interactions with her clients by recognizing that being a litigant is a stressful situation. Ms. Laws’ method for successful resolution for her clients begins with a collaborative approach, which allows her to understand and appreciate each of her client’s unique needs, while providing the most ethical and zealous representation possible.

In her spare time, Ms. Laws enjoys spending time with her family, playing bass guitar, attending live music concerts and festivals, traveling, and most outdoor activities (particularly hiking, kayaking, fishing) with the company of her dog, Blue.
